THE BRIEF

A beloved restaurant that needed its spaces to sell themselves

North Italia is one of the most acclaimed Italian dining groups in the country, celebrated for its handcrafted pasta, seasonal menus, and warm, design-forward spaces.

For a restaurant with spaces this beautiful and food this considered, the images have to do serious commercial work. North Italia's events team needed photography and video that could win private dining and corporate event bookings on sight, imagery that made an events director say yes before the first call.

At the same time, their social channels needed a constant supply of high-quality photo and video content: new menu launches, seasonal dishes, and the kind of atmospheric room content that makes someone pick up their phone and make a reservation.

We became their ongoing production partner, building a library that serves every part of the business simultaneously.

THE CHALLENGE

Imagery that fills rooms

The events team at North Italia were working with limited visual assets. When a corporate event planner or wedding party enquired about a private dining space, the images being shared weren't doing justice to what the rooms could actually look and feel like. Bookings were being won on description, not on desire.

The challenge was twofold: first, create a definitive set of event space images, architecturally precise, atmospherically rich, that the events team could use across every sales touchpoint, from email proposals to venue listing pages. Second, build a rolling content library for social that kept the brand present, aspirational, and hungry-inducing, week after week.

Both objectives needed to feel consistent, elevated, and unmistakably North Italia, with the same warmth and artisanship the brand puts into every dish.

THE APPROACH

Three briefs, one shoot day

We structured each production day to serve three distinct content streams simultaneously: event sales, food and menu, and social, allowing North Italia to maximize the return from every session without commissioning three separate shoots.

For event sales: we photographed the dining room and event spaces from multiple angles, the warm afternoon light that makes the room feel cozy, an elevated setup that makes it feel like an event dinner worth impressing a client over. The result was a sales deck's worth of images that conveyed both the scale and the intimacy of the spaces.

For menu and food: we worked closely with the culinary team to photograph new dishes with the styling precision and natural light that makes food feel as good as it tastes. Every angle and surface choice made with the Instagram grid and website menu in mind.

For social video: short-form content capturing the ambient energy, the clink of a glass, a pasta dish arriving, a signature drink being slid across the bar. Content that makes a viewer stop, save, and tag someone.

“[Laura and her team completely transformed how we present ourselves externally. Every time we open the asset library, there's exactly the right image for whatever we need — and it feels unmistakably us.]”

On Working Together:

“[Working with Laura feels less like hiring a photographer and more like having a creative director who happens to shoot. She understands what we're building and captures it before we even know what to point her at.]”
